1 Entry

Q1: What are the entry qualifications?

*People who are 15 years and under are required to have a guardian’s approval.

【50km】
Age 19 and above on the day of the race

【25km】
Age 16 and above on the day of the race

【11,5,3km】
No age limit(Kids who are 6 years and under should be accompanied by their guardian.)

【Kids Challenge 100m】
Age 12 and under

Q2: How to enter the race as escort skiers?

Escort skiers can only enter the race together with disabled skiers. Since escort skiers are exempted from paying the entry fee, Let us know beforehand. The secretariat cannot provide escort skiers to participants.

Q3: Is it possible to change the event after entry?

No. We don’t accept any changes of the event after entry.

Q4: Do you accept a substitute skier if I cannot participate in the race?

No. We don’t accept substitute skiers. If we find a substitute skier who is participating as a substitute, he or she will be disqualified.

Q5: Is it possible to get a refund if I cancel the race on that day?

No. We don’t give refunds if the cancelation is due to one’s private matter. However we will give a commemorative prize to all people who have entered. Come to the general reception to get it.

Q6: Can I enter the race on the day of the race?

No. We don’t accept any entries on the day of the race.

*In both the 50km and 25kmevents,we have two separate starting times(waves).Skiers are assigned to one of the starting times determined by the secretariat according to the skiers’ previous results and projected finish time. The official records and rankings are determined after Wave 1 and Wave 2 starters have completed the race.

2 Regarding the race

Q1: How is our bib number decided?

50,25km=The secretariat decides according to your previous result and projected finish time.
11,5,3km=It’s in order of application.

Q2: Where is the starting point?

The starting point for the 50km,25km,11km,5km, and 3km events is in the grounds of the Hokkaido Agricultural Research Center.
The distance from Sapporo Dome to the starting point is 1.2km. You are kindly requested to move to your position to be in time for the start.

Q3: What is the way of starting?

【50,25km】
    We have two separate starting times called “waves” to relieve the crush on the course right after starting.
    You are assigned to one of the starting zones(A-F).

【11,5,3km】
    There are no specific starting zones. However, the course might be crowded right after starting. Be careful not to push other skiers, cut into the track in front of other skiers, forcefully overtake other skies.

Q4: What are the features of the course?

It’s a loop course including Shirahatayama Open Stadium ( formerly Nishioka Olympic Memorial Stadium).

Q5: Do you have distance markers along the course?

Yes. We set up distance markers every 1 km.

Q6: Where are the refreshment points? What do they provide to skiers?

There are 9 refreshment points along the 50km course, 2 refreshment points along the 25km course.
They provide oranges, bananas and cream puffs.
Details are in the pamphlet.

Q7: Do you have a time limit?

50km=7hours(420minutes)
25km=4hours30minutes(270minutes)
*The time limit for passing the 31.5km point is 4 hours 30 minutes (within 270 minutes)in the 50km event.

3 Results

Q1: How do you measure results?

An electric chip “J-CHIP” is used for all record keeping. The J-CHIP is in the package of your bib.
Make sure to read the explanation about it and wear it during the race.
*Kids Challenge 100m is excepted.

Q2: When do finishers get their results?

In the venue we issue a flash report and post the top 30 in each event.
On the day of the race we post all finishers’ results on our official website.

Q3: When is a record certificate issued?

Your record certificate is issued on the day of the race.
After finishing the race, proceed to the certificate issuance counter.

 

4 Transport access

Q1: Is there a parking lot in the venue?

If you’d like to use your car or a rental car, you need to purchase a parking ticket in advance.
Without the parking ticket, you are not allowed to enter or park in the venue.
If you use a taxi cab, you are allowed to enter the venue.

Q2: How long does it take to get to the venue? How much is the transportation fare?

【Subway】
   The nearest station is Fukuzumi Station on the Toho Line.
Sapporo Station to Fukuzumi Station(the last stop;13minutes
Exit3 to Sapporo Dome; 10minutes on foot
Transportation fare:Adult(12 years and above)250 yen, Kids(6 years to 11 years)130 yen

 

【Airport Shuttle Bus】
 An airport shuttle bus running between Shin Chitose Airport and Sapporo stops at the “Sapporo Dome” stop, “Fukuzumi 3 jyo 3 chome” stop and “Fukuzumi 3 jyo 2 chome” stop near Sapporo Dome.
Transportation fare:Adult(12years and above)1,030 yen、Kids(6 years to 11 years)520 yen
It takes about 45 minutes.

 

【City Bus】
   A city buses running from downtown Sapporo, Kitahiroshima and Chitose stop near Sapporo Dome.
   You can use IC cards such as SAPICA, Kitaca and Suica.

5 Venue

Q1: Where are the toilets?

Toilets are available in Sapporo Dome. You can use an outdoor toilet in the parking lot.
On the day of the race, we will set up a portable toilet.

Q2: Do you have a changing room?

There are both Men’s Changing Room and Women’s Changing Room in Sapporo Dome along the South-North Passage.

Q3: Do you have a shower room?

A shower room is in the 2nd basement. * The shower room is available only on the day of the race.

Q4: Where is a luggage check?

A Fee-Based Luggage Check(\200/bag)is set up near the South Gate.
*Valuable items are not accepted.
*Right before the race, the luggage check is crowded. Please use this service well in advance.

Q5: What is “Coat Check”?

At the starting point, we can keep only your clothes. (free of charge) at “the Coat Check” beside the starting point. After finishing the race, your clothes are returned to you at the “Coat Collection” in Sapporo Dome (near the South Gate). Please tear off your bib-number sheet and make your bib-number card. Put your clothes and your bib-number card in a designated plastic bag so it’s clearly visible.

Q6: Where is a ski rental service section for beginner skiers?

We set up the rental ski service section for skiers participating in skiing at walking pace events.
*50,25km events are excepted.
*Advance reservation is needed.

6 Other

Q1: What is the commemorative gift?

50km/25km- Bath towel, 11km,5km,3km- Sports towel
We plan to provide Pocari Sweat(500ml) and Shiroi Koibito cookies.

Q2: Do you have a ski waxing service?

Yes. We set up a ski waxing area at the venue on the day before the race and the day of the race.

*Saturday, Feb.2nd.  Registration time is 12:00-16:00   Available for the first 70 pairs of skis
*Location: “Sapporo Skid” booth near the South Gate

Q3: Where is the Lost and found office? Where do you keep a broken pole?

They are kept at the organizer’s headquarters on the day of the race. It may take some time until you get back your lost or broken items.
*If we use a delivery service, the charge is paid on delivery.

Q4: Do you hold a fun lottery?

Yes. On the day of the race, we announce the winning number at 10:00. (The winning number corresponds to your bib number.)
*Winning numbers are only valid on the day of the race.
You can receive your prize in front of the reception desk at the South Concourse in Sapporo Dome.
Gifts are displayed in men’s and women’s changing rooms and near the reception.

Q5: Do you have a photo service?

Yes. We have a professional photographer who has our permission to take photos and post them on his website.
This website links to our website. Skiers can purchase photos through the Internet.
(If you don’t want your photos to be posted on the website, please let the secretariat know beforehand.)
